We are a network of over 100 midwives and health professionals across the East of England. Our membership is made up of a range of individuals including research midwives, student and consultant midwives, maternity support workers, academic and clinical midwives, colleagues working in midwifery research jobs across reproductive health and childbirth research and in regional strategic research and NHS leadership roles.

The scope of experience in the network means that it is a space where ideas and connection can flourish and everyone is welcome regardless of previous engagement in midwifery research topics and projects. We are deliberately non-hierarchical and recognise the strength that comes with the range of backgrounds our members have.
We learn from one another and everyone is valued, and our regular events represent our breadth of practice and interests. We are committed to being an anti-racist network and warmly encourage people from the global majority to join.

We all have in common a dedication to promoting research to improve the delivery of maternity and perinatal care, and recognise that midwives engaged in delivery, collaboration and leadership of research are key to this.
We know from personal experience that making research part of your midwifery or perinatal practice is hugely rewarding and provides incredible opportunities for growth alongside positively impacting outcomes for women, birthing people and their families.
