EoE MRN in Berlin!

The first International Confederation of Midwives European conference held in Berlin felt like the ideal place to showcase the development work of the EoE MRN to an international audience.
The poster we presented showed how the network has grown in the 18 months since starting, looking back at the forming of our vision and aims, then goals and now looking forward to our first annual calendar of events for 2025!
Our incredible network members have shaped the direction of the MRN – at every meeting we have been blown away by the strength that comes from this group of individuals with such varied experiences and interests.
The fact that the network includes people who all practice midwifery or work alongside midwives in multiple different ways – whether in clinical, academic, research delivery, strategic and managerial settings, or as service users or learners, makes it a space that is truly open to everyone. The lack of hierarchy allows it to be a welcoming and supportive forum.
The weekend at the conference speaking with and hearing the stories of midwives from across the globe was truly inspiring. Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent, Chief Midwife for the ICM, ran a brilliant workshop, with strong messages about the leadership that is innate in all midwives and the need for us to continue getting stuck into the vital work of midwifery, whatever form that takes.
