Lifespan Health Research Centre – Women’s Health Theme!

In June and July 2024, a group of likeminded research focused practitioners, academics and clinicians came together to discuss their passion for women’s health and decided to form a group to explore this fascinating area of research.
We ran some exploratory workshops, identifying what was already happening within the UEA and surrounding areas in Women’s Health and understand what research was already happening. We shared research aspirations and the desire to include people’s lived experience within work moving forwards.
We worked towards a draft group description to explain who we are and what we hope to achieve:
The Women’s Health Theme are an interdisciplinary research-focused network with an inclusive, holistic approach to women’s health. Our group of academics, practitioners, clinicians and individuals with lived experience, take a collaborative and intersectional view, acknowledging that the women’s health space is one of a broad range of individual experience.
Our Aims Include:
- Raising awareness and de-stygmatising women’s health in research
- Growing an interdisciplinary network focused on women’s health in our region as well as nationally.
- Strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration
- Actively pursuing women’s health research opportunities
We are planning meetings for 2025 at present and are keen to work collaboratively with others across the region working in the field of women’s health. If you are interested in joining the Women’s Health Theme, then please get in touch: r.sanders@uea.ac.uk
